I designed this cross after a 3rd century Irish cross and in the style of the knotwork found on a baptismal font found in Broadford where Saint Maolrubha established one of his churches. most of the sites named after Marie are in fact Maolubha sites and churches all up and down the west coast. When the worship of Mary came into fashion, Maolrubha became Marie. -
