Sterling Silver & Bog Oak Quaich

A quaich is an ancient ceremonial drinking vessel.

The design of the Quaich is ingenious. When used in covenant making, vow exchanging, or deal striking, one must lift and drink from the wee cauldron using two hands. Reminding the deal makers that if both do not keep up their ends, the precious contents of the Quaich is lost - and there's nothing we hate more than spilling a dram.

Back in the 70's Garth made around 200 items in the style of ancient Egypt. Garth's belly dancing wife has encouraged the resurrection of this theme. There are 3 designs to start with and there will be more in the future.
